Morgan Municipal serves dozens of townships throughout New Jersey as appointed and assigned engineers, planners, surveyors, inspectors, special counsel, and more.
Known for its creative problem-solutions, Morgan Municipal was approached by Pine Beach Borough and its elementary school, collectively seeking an efficient way to slow down residential traffic on a primary road, Pennsylvania Avenue, that borders the school. With the amount of school children walking to and from school each day, bus traffic, parent drop offs, deliveries, etc. traffic safety was a top priority.
The engineering team met with Pine Beach officials and was advised even increased police presence and traffic violations in a school zone were not formidable deterrents to drivers.
Given its expert familiarity with ‘Vision Zero’ (a nationwide initiative to eliminate traffic fatalities through physical roadway changes), Morgan Municipal applied for and received grant monies to fully-fund Pine Beach’s roadway construction costs. Morgan Municipal saved Pine Beach time and capital, and designed and implemented two (2) NJ Department of Transportation (NJDOT) pre-approved speed tables on Pennsylvania Avenue, just outside both entrances to Pine Beach Elementary School.
“We have heard nothing but great things from Pine Beach officials, residents, and elementary school employees,” advised Morgan Municipal Director of Municipal Services, Mark Rohmeyer, PE, PP, CME, “and we’re now getting inquiries from other towns throughout New Jersey. Speed Tables are specifically designed to be comfortably driven over at the posted speed limit. We have test driven the speed tables post-construction and found them to perform appropriately.”
