The Summer Internship Program provides college students with entry-level, hands-on exposure to the daily operations of a professional surveying and engineering office. Interns will support administrative, technical, and project coordination functions while gaining practical experience in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
This position is designed to introduce students to the operational, technical, and business aspects of the surveying and engineering industry.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Assist with preparation and organization of project files, including digital and hard-copy documentation.
• Support drafting and design teams with basic CAD-related tasks (as experience allows).
• Perform data entry, scanning, filing, and document management within company systems.
• Assist in reviewing tax maps, deeds, survey plans, and municipal records for research purposes.
• Provide administrative support to project managers, engineers, and surveyors.
• Help coordinate internal project documentation and maintain organized job tracking systems.
• Participate in team meetings and observe project workflow from initiation through completion.
• Support marketing, proposal preparation, and/or STEM outreach initiatives as needed.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to company policies and professional standards.
Qualifications
• Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university program.
• Preferred majors include engineering, civil engineering, surveying, architecture, construction management, business administration, mathematics, or related fields.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); familiarity with AutoCAD or similar software is a plus but not required.
• Strong communication skills and professional demeanor.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
• Interest in learning about land surveying, engineering processes, and professional services operations.
