The Survey Technician supports survey operations by processing field data, preparing drawings, and assisting in the production of accurate survey deliverables. This role works closely with project surveyors and field crews to ensure data integrity and timely completion of projects.
Reporting Structure
Reports to: Director of Operations (or Project Surveyor, depending on structure)
Supervisory Responsibilities: None
Key Responsibilities
Process and organize field data collected by survey crews.
Prepare and revise survey drawings using AutoCAD or similar CAD software.
Assist in drafting boundary, topographic, ALTA, as-built, and construction stake-out surveys.
Perform basic calculations to support survey mapping and layout.
Review survey data for completeness and accuracy.
Maintain project files, records, and documentation.
Communicate with field crews and project managers to clarify data and resolve discrepancies.
Assist with preparation of plats, maps, and reports as needed.

Qualifications
High school diploma required; associate degree or technical certification in surveying, engineering technology, or related field preferred.
0–2 years of related experience (entry-level candidates encouraged to apply).
Basic knowledge of AutoCAD or similar CAD software preferred.
Skills & Abilities
Ability to read and interpret survey notes, maps, and technical documents.
Basic mathematical skills, including geometry and trigonometry.
Proficiency with computers and willingness to learn industry-specific software.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
